Fisher Capital Management Korea: Reducing LDL Levels through Cholesterol-Lowering Foods

Many Americans ingest statins to lower cholesterol levels. But several studies, as unearthed by Fisher Capital Management Korea Reviews, show that cholesterol-friendly foods, like tree nuts and soy products, help lower bad cholesterol levels or LDL.
In the Journal of the American Medical Association, a study showed that LDL cholesterol levels were decreased by 13%, for people who ate healthy diet with low cholesterol foods. There was a 3% decrease for those who ate a diet low in saturated fats.
Dr. David Jenkins, lead author of the study and a professor of metabolism and nutrition at the University of Toronto, said that it is possible for people to lower their cholesterol through proper diet. This can be small changes they can make in their lives, if they really want to stay conscious about their cholesterol levels.
Jenkins created a “portfolio diet” that combined foods to lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease. It includes daily consumption of vegetables, oats, and barley as well as tree nuts. The diet plans to use soy-based products to substitute meat and plant sterol-enriched margarine to replace butter.
Dr. Jane Klauer, an internist based in New York who specializes in nutrition and metabolism, says that this lowers the risk for any cardiovascular disease. She continues that the diet creates a positive change in cholesterol levels.
Dr. Walter Willet, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health, insists that there are greater benefits if you replace dairy products and red meat, which are possible sources of saturated fat, to soy products and nuts, rather than with carbohydrates.
Before doctors suggest medications to lower cholesterol, they usually advice patients to modify their diet and lifestyle. If this doesn’t work, they readily prescribe statins, which minimizes the production of cholesterol in the liver. Eating fruits, vegetables, lean poultry, fish and whole grains are also suggested to reduce risk of cardiovascular diseases.
The study may have lasted only six-months for follow-up, but Fisher Capital Management Korea Reviews believe there has to be a longer period to understand its effects. They also noted that the diet was plant-based, which many meat-eaters will find it difficult to maintain.

Fisher Capital Management Warning Cyber hackers phone targets disguise as tech support personnel

was learned cyber crooks discovering high-tech methods to hack directly into enormous personal computers. However there’s a caution in regards to an easier secret hackers are utilizing to gain access to your personal computer. The concerns right now, the same fraud is going around within the Bay Area. A mystery caller saying is with tech support services happens to be a hacker. One lady unconsciously allows the hacker right into her personal computer and it frightened the girl a great deal. Fern Johnson, 73, has gotten the lady’s part with regards to adventures like a trip guide throughout far-away places similar to driving a dog squad in Alaska, however almost nothing frightened her just like the telephone call to her residence in Novato. “‘I’m right from Microsoft to tell you the fact that your computer is actually full of virus and can crash,’” stated Johnson. A guy over the telephone cautioned the lady that if she failed to act quickly, the woman’s personal computer might launch all her private information around the World Wide Web. “Well that frightened not to mention the great shock, I did not just think,” proclaimed Johnson. Johnson does as the guy instructed her. The lady proceeded to go to a web site and clicked on the button and quickly, an additional cursor came out on the monitor. This set to manipulate the woman’s personal computer. “He opened up the applications in my personal computer. Imagine, I did not do any of it, he gotten in and he opened up the menu,” pointed out Johnson. This remote cursor started whizzing throughout the display, clicking on applications as well as internet sites, at the same time this mystery caller probed to find out more, from Fisher Capital Management news. “He inquired repeatedly about exactly where I banked, and where my Visa card has been. I informed him the specific bank,” described Johnson. Shortly yellow indicators begun showing up on the monitor. The unknown caller stated it has been proof of those malware he had been referring to. “I asked, ‘What will I do over it?’ in which he reached the harsh truth that certainly, they can remedy it and it will cost I think it had been $249,” reported Johnson. This caller maintained pressuring Johnson to pay for the remedy. This is when the lady became aware the issue wasn’t the virus, it absolutely was the guy over the telephone as well as the browser on the monitor. “‘I would like you out from my personal computer. Get rid of this pc. So I was in fact very annoyed when I hung up. Actually, I’m sobbing,’” explained Johnson. From then on, Johnson cleans her desktop for probable malware. The lady altered all her passwords and she got in touch with 7 On Your Side. “They are attempting to do anything whatsoever they could to obtain inside your computer system. Consequently they will attempt to deceive a person, they will aim to frighten you,” stated John Harrison, an online protection specialist from Symantec Internet Security. Harrison affirms numerous online hackers currently are employing traditional telephone calls to get charge of personal computers. “When these are on your pc, it is usually devastatingly over. They’re able to take desperate measures they desire. They may set up malware to include anyone to an area remotely controlled, your pc may be used to save stolen computer software or even porn material,” alleged Harrison. Microsoft informs us such messages or calls are from scammers usually, not Microsoft. They put in an alert to the public stating, “Microsoft isn’t going to call clients demanding cash to fix a trouble.” “As the senior, I believe that occasionally we are susceptible simply because we have been quite trusting. And So I merely do not want this to take place for you or to someone else,” announced Johnson. Scammers typically tend to be pretending to be agents from other technology outfits, besides Microsoft. Thinking of obtaining technology support telephone call out of nowhere, do not interact personally. Get in touch with your online suppliers directly as an alternative.

Fisher Capital Management Korea Review: “American Girl in Italy” After 60 Years

“American Girl in Italy” was a very popular photo that captured 60 years ago. It features a beautiful young woman walking down the street of Florence surrounded by men watching her beauty and grace.

The picture was taken in 1951, which perfectly captures all the merriment while being abroad. Ninalee Craig who plays the subject of the photo, speaks about the picture during its 60th commemoration.  She points out that the experience was not meant to embarrass her; but as Fisher Capital Management Korea sees it, more of a implying that this woman is truly enjoying her trip in Italy.

Craig insists that she knew what happened in the picture as she was 23 back then traveling alone through Europe. She stayed in a cheap hotel that made her meet Ruth Orkin, a photographer who was traveling alone too. Both of them reminisced the trip by capturing pictures that highlight the event.

Craig claims that they were walking down Florence for two hours while Orkin took pictures of markets and cafes. Orkin only made two shots of her walking through the streets, which turned out to be a smash hit celebrated these days.

However,Fisher Capital Management Korea joins the public’s skepticism if the picture was taken purposely. But Craig claims that those men who appeared in the picture were actually standing on the street. It was Orkin’s suggestion to come back and repeat her walk that resulted to the second picture.

Craig insisted in her interview that these men were never really mean harm. They gazed at her with utmost admiration as she walked playfully towards them.

Presently, Craig is residing in Toronto watching over her great grandchildren. Orkin, with a partner, pursued to write and direct the 1956 Oscar nominated film “Little Fugitive”. She died in 1985. Both women will mostly be remembered for that remarkable photo that has captured people’s imagination.

Fisher Capital Management Korea Latest News Updates: Android malware up 76 percent, nonexistent on iOS 2 Votes

http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-20096832-233/android-malware-up-76-percent-nonexistent-on-ios/
By: Joe Aimonetti AUGUST 24, 2011 3:03 PM PDT
A recent study has found that Apple’s iOS is still untouched by malware, whereas users who choose Google’s Android platform are 76 percent more likely to encounter funky software, making it the most susceptible mobile operating system in the world.
McAfee’s Threat Report for the second quarter of 2011 outlined the issues facing mobile OS developers. It seems as though Apple’s strict stance on iOS apps and games has thus far thwarted any attempts at malware.
The only attacks on iPhones were only able to harm jailbroken phones. (Remember the Rick Astley exploit?) And only a small number of those.
Google, on the other hand, has a significantly less strict approach to getting apps and games on its Android platform. That has caused a significant number of malicious software titles to be downloaded via Google’s own Android Marketplace as well as separately by users.
With 44 cases of malware in the second quarter alone, Android is nearly four times as targeted as the second-place platform, Java ME, with 14 cases.
HP’s WebOS also contained no known cases of malware, joining iOS as the only other unblemished mobile platform, though the reach of WebOS is significantly less than iOS.
Does the threat of malware affect your decision on which mobile phone to purchase? If not, what does? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Fisher Capital Management Korea Latest News Updates : ‘Grandparent Scam’ Tricking Older Ohioans Out Of Thousands

By: TOM BROCKMAN
Published: August 15, 2011
Updated: August 15, 2011 – 9:32 PM
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has warning for older Ohioans.
They say they’ve received 89 complaints regarding a phone scam throughout the state.
As it turns out, this scam has tricked dozens of people into handing over thousands of dollars.
One of those people is Joe Patton of Columbus.
“He said, ‘do you know who this is?’”
Patton can still hear the voice on the other end of the phone; a voice the 74-year-old thought belonged to his grand nephew.
“I said ‘Is this Darrel, the dental student from NYU?’ and he said ‘Yes, I have a terrible cold but I’m in trouble and I desperately need your help,’” recallsPatton.
Patton said Darrel told him he and a friend had been arrested for drunk driving while out on the town inHoustonTexas and he needed Patton to wire $6,200immediately to his attorneys.
Patton did as he was asked.
Then a few days later, he called Darrel’s mother.
“She said ‘Uncle Joe, I don’t know what’s going on with you, but Darrel… is on a skiing trip in Vermont’” saidPatton.
“At that moment, I knew I had been scammed,” he says.
$6,200, plus more than $300 in other fees, was long gone.
The Ohio Attorney General’s office says the average loss for those who have been had from this scam is around $6,700.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has dubbed it the ‘Grandparent Scam.’
“They (scam artists) really prey on the natural instinct of a grand parent to help that child,” said DeWine.
He says if you get a similar and unexpected phone call, test your so-called relative.
“Ask them their dad’s name or their mom’s name, something the scam artists probably won’t know,” saysDeWine.
Patton says he realizes the mistake he made and hopes others won’t follow his example.
“I don’t believe I’m anybody’s fool, I have a business degree and I’m a business person of many years and it should never have happened to me,” says Patton.

The Ohio Attorney General’s office offers this advice:
-               Be suspicious if your “Grandson” or “Granddaughter” tells you to keep the situation between the two of you and not call “Mom and Dad” about it.
-               Tell your loved ones about the Grandparent scam.
-               Never wire transfer money to someone who calls unexpectedly, even if the caller claims to be a grandchild or other family member.
-               Ask callers questions that only your real family members would know how to answer.
-               Encourage your family not to post up-coming travel plans online.
-               Family members, friends and neighbors must watch out for those who are most vulnerable to these malicious scammers. Look for any unusual banking activity and receipts from wire transfer services.
-               If a victim gives money once, the scam artists may put the victim on a “sucker list” (a list of individuals who are likely to give money), and the scam artists continue to contact the victim for more money, sometimes they will call multiple times a day.
-               To contact the Ohio Attorney General’s Office for consumer information or to report a scam go to OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov or call 800-282-0515

Fisher Capital Management Korea Latest News Update: Scientists claim to have created glowing dog

SEOUL, July 27 (Yonhap) — South Korean scientists said Wednesday that they have created a glowing dog using a cloning technique that could help find cures for human diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
A research team from Seoul National University (SNU) said the genetically modified female beagle, born in 2009, has been found to glow fluorescent green under ultraviolet light if given a doxycycline antibiotic.
The researchers, who completed a two-year test, said this ability to glow can be turned on or off by using an inducer drug in feed. This makes the dog, named Tegon, the world’s first inducible transgenic cloned dog.
“The creation of Tegon opens new horizons since the gene injected to make the dog glow can be substituted with genes that trigger fatal human diseases,” said lead researcher Lee Byeong-chun, a professor at SNU.
He said the dog was created using the somatic cell nuclear transfer technology that the university team used to make the world’s first cloned dog, Snuppy, in 2005.
The scientist said that because there are 268 illnesses that humans and dogs have in common, creating dogs that artificially show such symptoms can fuel treatment methods for diseases that afflict humans.
“Compared to mice that are most frequently used at present, dogs are closer to humans in overall size and show many of the same symptoms when they become sick with diseases like Alzheimer’s,” Lee said.
Mice sometimes respond differently to human illnesses, which make them less effective in findings cures, he added.
The veterinary scientist added that while it takes time to make dogs like Tegon, such animals can breed and give birth to puppies that have the same genetic characteristics.
“This means it will be relatively easy to mass produce such dogs for experiments,” he said.
The SNU team said it plans to make dogs that can develop various types of human diseases if given doxycycline.
The latest discovery published in Genesis, an international journal, took four years of research with roughly 3.2 billion won (US$3 million) being used to make the dog and conduct the necessary verification tests.

Richard Fisher: Robert Brown’s Boiler Installation

Richard Fisher on Boiler room management - with the current state of the economy, it is extremely important that you are fully aware of the ways in which you can make savings around your home, along with the steps you can take to ensure that you do not waste more money that you need to.
There are small steps that can be taken, such as turning off lights when leaving a room, or not leaving electrical devices on standby when they are not in use. Regarding heat loss, you can install draft excluders on your windows and doors, as well as making sure your house is properly insulated; insulation in cavity walls, as well as in ceilings can save many hundreds of pounds in heating costs over a long period of time.
Regarding heat loss, while it is important to guard against heat being lost through insulation, it is incredibly important to consider how the heat is produced in the first place; is your current method efficient both economically and environmentally.
Richard Fisher on Boiler room management - Boiler replacement. If you have an old, inefficient electric boiler, it may be a good idea to arrange boiler installation for a new gas boiler. Gas boiler installation could save you hundreds of pounds each year, reducing your bills significantly.
All boiler installation jobs are complicated and can involve a large amount of work. If however you make sure you use a trained professional, the job can be stress free and quickly finished, with minimum fuss. If you do decide to carry out the installation yourself, you must be sure to read up on the subject in great depth, taking all recommended precautions before commencing work. It is also advisable that you have an assistant, to help with removal and installation, so you can concentrate on the technical aspects of the work fully.
Richard Fisher on Boiler room management - Required certification. There are levels of certification and permits required to legally undertake such work, such as building codes and planning permission laws.
You can often check these aspects with your local council and planning authority, as well as with your local gas company and supplier.
Once you are sure that you are ready to undertake the work, it is a good idea to prepare the area in which the boiler will be installed. In this area, there should be a gas supply, a water supply, and an electrical supply all within a close proximity of the boiler; the greater the distance between these supplies and the boiler, the greater the difficulty in installation. It is important to note that boiler installation should not take place near to any combustible substances; such is the danger of an explosion.
Once your boiler is delivered, you should make sure that all parts are present and correctly formed, prior to attempting an installation. Once you are sure everything is fine, you can begin your boiler installation along the guidelines that you have learned in your studies.

For simplicity of operation and maintenance, all controls on our boilers are well known, off-the-shelf products. There area no proprietary parts on these boilers! This simplicity of operation is part of our philosophy, and an important reason why our customers return to us again and again.

TRIAD has been manufacturing high-quality boilers since 1926, and developed the modular boiler concept with primary/secondary piping, receiving a patent for it in 1967. We put this experience, knowledge, and expertise into every boiler.

We believe in quality - it is the overriding characteristic driving our company. This is why we manufacture extremely rugged, well-designed hot water and steam boilers that can provide decades of dependable service. We welcome your inquiries.

Benefits of Modularity
TRIAD's elegantly simple design maintains consistent water volume where heat is required.
  • Boilers are activated sequentially, drawing water from the main loop into the next hot water boiler until the heating need is meet.
  • firing boilers remaining isolated, so no heated water circulates through cold boilers.
  • During most of the year the unfired boilers provide additional backup.
  • Outdoor temperatures and loop water temperatures are constantly monitored.
Fisher Capital on Boiler Room Equipment, Inc: The efficiency of this design is most apparent during warmer months, when a conventional hydronic heating or steam boiler could still be operating at full capacity.

Primary-Secondary Piping
TRIAD integrates modularity with a single pipe primary-secondary system. TRIAD was the first company to employ a Primary-Secondary concept. It operates with two loops, (i) the primary loop, or building main loop, and (ii) smaller secondary loops off of each hot water boiler, which supply heated water to the primary loop.

Upon a call for heat, the boiler pump begins pushing the return water into the boiler and out through the secondary loop, supplying this hot water up into the primary loop (the main header), where it mixes with the cooler return water from the main loop of the building.
  • Supply and return water are blended, avoiding the need for expensive and unreliable mixing valves commonly used in two pipe systems.
  • The secondary loop isolates each hot water boiler, resulting in a very efficient system that minimizes thermal shock.
Control Panel
TRIAD Boilers can be sequenced by the use of our control panel that provides many attractive features:
  • Temperature set-back when less heat is required, such as nights and weekends.
  • Adjustments for latent heat, to take advantage of hot boiler water that retains heat after the burner shuts down.
  • Outdoor reset based on atmospheric temperatures.
  • Monitoring of return water temperatures to maintain accurate heating output.
It is also very easy to sequence our boilers using the panel of any other major manufacturer.

Packaged Product
Fisher Capital on Boiler Room Equipment, Inc: All TRIAD hot water boilers and steam boilers are fully assembled, packaged products, which offer several advantages over boilers that must be assembled at the jobsite
  • Onsite labor costs are minimized.
  • Quality control is higher at the factory than at the jobsite
  • The ease of installation of a packaged boiler allows for quicker start up.
Benefits of Steel Boilers

Easy to Clean
To maintain boiler efficiency, heating surfaces must be kept clean and free of combustion by-products. All TRIAD heating surfaces, especially the firetubes, are easy to access. It is impossible to clean all the heating surfaces of a cast iron boiler, and what can be reached is difficult to clean.

TRIAD also makes it easy to maintain clean water surfaces. The cleaning of the interior of a cast iron boiler is a major undertaking, and even then only the vertical surfaces can be cleaned. The inability to clean the horizontal surfaces can have a significant impact on operating efficiency.

Easy to Repair
Because of their steel construction, TRIAD hot water and steam boilers can be repaired in the field with minimal disruption. A leak can be permanently welded or the tubes re-rolled with little difficulty. It is impossible to permanently weld a cracked cast iron boiler section or a leaking copper fin-tube boiler. The firetubes are easily accessed through the top and through the firedoor.

Fast Water Circulation
Poor circulation of water within the typical cast iron boiler is very common due to their design limits, while TRIAD's steel hot water boilers provide for faster circulation.

Fisher Capital News: European Union Combats Pollutant Emissions from Non-Road Mobile Machinery

With such close scrutiny on pollutant emissions from road vehicles, what measures are in place to regulate emissions from non-road mobile machinery (NRMM)? Get educated, avoid scam and learn from latest news update from Fisher Capital Equipment Management Leasing.

NRMM refers to any transportable industrial equipment or vehicle with or without bodywork that is not intended to be used to carry goods or passengers on the road, in which an internal combustion engine is installed. This includes any vehicle fitted with a diesel engine and covers numerous construction vehicles and equipment such as excavators, front loaders and compressors.

Do NRMM contribute significantly to pollutant levels?

NRMM are not currently subject to as tight controls as road vehicles and investigations undertaken by the European Commission estimate that off road machinery accounts for approximately a quarter of the emissions of oxides of nitrogen and a third of PM2.5 (particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter)  emissions of mobile sources in 2000.
Oxides of nitrogen and particulates are the most significant pollutants emitted by diesel engines and are the two pollutants of most concern to the United Kingdom in terms of air quality. Oxides of nitrogen can have adverse effects on health, particularly among those with respiratory problems. In addition, they contribute to acidification, and to ground level ozone formation. Particulates are also damaging to health, particularly those suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory complaints.

What has been done to control these emissions?

Directive 97/68/EC was passed by the European Parliament and the Council of 16 December 1997 to approximate the laws of Member States relating to measures against the emission of gaseous and particulate pollutants from internal combustion engines to be installed in non-road mobile machinery. Several amendments have been made to this directive including, 2001/63/EC, 2002/88/EC, and 2004/26/EC to include technological advancements and to extend the scope of the directive to cover agricultural and forestry tractors, small spark ignition engines, locomotives and inland waterway vessels. The directive identifies the necessity to control emissions of air pollutants that have recognised health risks such as nitrogen dioxide, particulates – black smoke and other pollutants such as carbon monoxide.

How does it work?

The directive approximates laws of the Member States with regard to emission standards and has established a ''type approval' procedure for engines intended to be fitted to NRMM.  Type approval is a procedure whereby a Member State certifies that an internal combustion engine 'type' or 'family' meets the minimum technical requirements specified in the directive with regards to its level of emission of gaseous and particulate pollutants. Through certification, engine 'types' or 'families' can be approved with the assumption that, as a result of similar design, the expected exhaust emissions will comply with requirements of the directive.

What does this mean for the Construction Industry?

The Mayor of London’s 'Best Practice Guidance' already recommends minimum standards for off-road vehicles associated with increasing numbers of construction sites in London and large high profile demolition and construction sites, more commonly being asked by local planning authorities to specify exhaust emission controls for NRMM within their Construction Environmental Management plans.

In instances where the existing poor air quality exists upgrading NRMM to the latest engine 'type' or 'family', where budget allows,  can not only reduce the impact construction activities have on local air quality but also have climate change benefits through efficient / clean engine technologies.  As an alternative a range of exhaust after-treatment technologies is also available as a retrofit or as an original equipment option. Where upgrading to the latest technology or retrofit is not possible, other simple changes to on-site operations can be made to reduce the impact of NRMM. Such changes as using ultra low sulphur equivalent diesel and routinely maintaining/servicing an engine can hugely reduce levels of pollutants. Moreover, careful consideration of where to locate stationary construction plant equipment such as generators and cranes can also minimise the impact of exhaust emissions i.e. away from pedestrian walkways or areas where members of the public may be exposed for any length of time. A cost effective way that companies with sizeable stocks of NRMM can minimise their impacts on air quality at the most sensitive sites would be to distribute only there newest NRMM to sites with existing air quality issues.

With ever increasing pressure on the construction industry to tighten up their environmental practices, emissions from NRMM should not forgotten and through planned equipment renewal and on-site management companies can help protect the general public and employees against recognised health risks from air pollution and improve their environmental credentials.
